Please note that your 1 1/2″ solvent waste pipe may be classed as 40mm. This is a nominal measurement. Your pipe should measure 43mm externally so please check this.

Allows you to come off the bottom of a standard bath/kitchen sink waste 1 1/2″ BSP thread straight to 1 1/2″ solvent weld pipe (which will measure 43mm externally)
Some shower traps come with either a 45° or a 90° fitting rather than going straight to pipe which isn’t always ideal. Providing the trap thread is standard 1 1/2″ BSP, this will allow you to come straight out of the trap in solvent weld pipe (which will measure 43mm externally)
